The National Disability Insurance Scheme Data

By Alex Cooper, Principal

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support to people living with a disability, their families and carers. The main component of the NDIS is individualised packages of support to eligible people with disability.

The NDIS was founded in July 2013 and has been collecting huge amounts of valuable data which offers a picture of the requirements, wins and difficulties for Australians who live with a disability and those who support them.

In my regular discussions with clients and candidates within the sector the general consensus is that the schemes’ intentions are forthright and welcomed by the sector on the whole, however the delivery and strategies used to implement its plans haven’t always met the high hopes of its mission.

The constant changes and diverse requirements of participants and their families will continue to evolve, and I wanted to raise a positive spotlight on the scheme, its participants and families, and all those who are utilising its support during and beyond the scenario we all find ourselves in at the moment.

There are 364,879 participants in current plans in all support classes for all disability groups in all age bands and over 18,000 NDIS registered providers delivering NDIS support.

The report offers in-depth analysis and reports on multiple participant and family groups in addition to highlighting inspiring people with disability and their stories and goals.
